Roof Repair in Lexington, OK
Water usually travels along the deck before it shows up indoors. We follow it back to the flashing, fastener or seal that let it in, repair that part with materials matched to your roof, and send you photos of the failure and the finished fix.

Repairs that start with the cause
Leaks tend to begin in the same few spots: pipe boots, step flashing where the roof meets a wall, valleys, chimney counterflashing and nails that have worked loose from the deck. Water slips in at one of those points, rides along the felt or a rafter, and drips out somewhere else entirely. Smearing sealant over the drip spot only masks the problem for a season. We trace the path uphill until we find the part that actually failed.
A repair makes sense when the damage is confined to one area and the rest of the roof still has life in it: a handful of blown-off shingles, a single cracked boot, a flashing seam that has separated. If every slope has brittle shingles or the decking gives underfoot in several places, we will tell you plainly and explain why roof replacement may be the smarter spend. Our repair work is done under an Oklahoma residential roofing license, and the company also holds an Oklahoma commercial roofing license and an Oklahoma general contractor license.
What a roof repair includes
- Leak tracing from attic and roof
- We check the attic side for wet sheathing, stained rafters and daylight, then match it to what we see on top. That tells us where water enters, not just where it lands.
- Pipe boot and vent replacement
- Rubber boot collars crack in summer heat and let water run down the vent pipe. We replace the whole boot, slide it under the upslope shingles and fasten it so the flange sheds water instead of trapping it.
- Flashing repair
- Step flashing should be one piece per shingle course, tucked behind the siding. Where we find a single long strip or caulk doing the job, we rebuild it correctly, along with counterflashing at chimneys and walls.
- Shingle replacement and resealing
- We lift the surrounding tabs carefully, pull the old nails, and install new shingles with four or six nails placed in the nailing strip. Then we hand-seal tabs that lost their adhesive bond so wind cannot peel them back.
- Decking and underlayment patches
- If the plywood or OSB under a leak has gone soft, we cut back to solid wood and land new sheathing on rafters. New underlayment is lapped under the existing felt so water moves downhill over every seam.
Signs your roof needs repair
Ceiling stains or drips
A brown ring that spreads after each rain tells you water is getting to the drywall. The opening on the roof is usually farther up the slope than the stain.
Missing or creased shingles
A crease across a shingle shows wind bent it past the seal strip, and the next hard gust will probably take it off. We see this most after spring storms.
Heavy granules in the gutters
A brand-new roof sheds a few loose granules, and that is expected. Thick drifts of them from an older roof mean the asphalt is losing its sun protection and will crack sooner.
Nail pops
A nail backing out of the deck lifts the shingle over it into a bump and can eventually poke through. Every one becomes a small opening straight to the sheathing.
Damp attic insulation or musty smell
Insulation that gets wet loses R-value and can rot the sheathing above it. A slow leak often appears in the attic well before it stains a ceiling.
How a repair visit runs
- 1
Start with a phone call
Tell us what you are seeing and which rooms of your home it shows up in. We note the roof's age and whether a recent hail or wind event passed through, so the right boots, flashing and shingles are on the truck.
- 2
Inspect and photograph
We check the roof surface and the attic, take pictures of every failed part, and go over them with you. The written estimate breaks each repair out as its own line.
- 3
Make the repair
We cover landscaping and siding below the work area, strip damaged materials back to solid decking, and install new parts with proper laps and fastening.
- 4
Clean up and confirm
A magnetic sweeper goes over the yard and driveway for loose nails, the debris leaves with us, and you get photos of the completed repair.

What moves the price of a roof repair
The cost of a repair follows two things: the part that failed and how much damage the water did after it got in. Once we have seen the roof, we write an estimate with each fix on its own line, so you can see where every portion of the cost goes before we start.
- Hidden damage under the leak
- Caught early, a leak may only need a new pipe boot. Left for months, the same leak can soak the decking and insulation, and both have to be replaced.
- Pitch and how high we work
- A steep slope calls for roof jacks and more safety setup. Eaves on a two-story house also take longer to reach than those on a single-story ranch.
- Finding shingles that match
- Current architectural shingles are usually stocked by local suppliers. An older three-tab style or a color the maker no longer produces can take extra time to track down a close match.
- How much flashing needs rebuilding
- Resealing one vent is a short job. Rebuilding a chimney or sidewall with new step flashing and counterflashing takes considerably more labor.
Roof repair questions
Something not covered here? (405) 807-9564
Can a leak be fixed with a tube of sealant?
Sealant does one job well, which is hand-sealing shingle tabs that lost their bond. It cannot stand in for a cracked boot or flashing that has pulled loose. Caulk baking in Oklahoma sun turns hard and separates within a few years. We replace the part that failed so the roof stays dry without relying on caulk.
Can you find shingles close to what is already on my roof?
We identify the manufacturer, product line and color from a spare bundle or the shingles themselves, then source the nearest product available. A new shingle reads a shade brighter at first because its granules have not weathered yet, and it settles in over a few seasons. If that line has been discontinued, you hear about it before any work begins.
How do I know repair is better than replacement?
When the damage sits in one area and the remaining shingles still flex without cracking, a repair usually makes sense. If we find brittle shingles across the roof, soft decking in several places or leaks showing up in different spots, we lay out the tradeoff and the decision stays with you.
Do you repair roofs in nearby towns?
Yes. Besides Lexington, we do roof repair in Purcell, Noble, Slaughterville, Goldsby and Norman.
Will insurance cover my roof damage?
Policies often cover sudden damage from hail or wind and usually exclude wear and age. If storm damage looks likely, our storm damage repair page explains how we document it for a claim. The coverage decision belongs to your adjuster.
